Rolex Country Code
Friday 03 february 2023 - 12:03
Rolex Country Code is a three-digit numerical code printed or perforated on every guarantee issued by the Swiss Company and which has been introduced by Rolex starting approximately in the mid-1980s.
Its function is to identify the country in which the watch was originally sold, according to an official Rolex list that associates each state with one or more numerical codes.
The only exception is code 119, which is reserved for watches supplied to COMEX.

Rolex Serial Number & Production Year 1927-1987
Rolex Serial Number & Production Year 1927-1987
Thursday 24 november 2022 - 13:00
It is possible to roughly understand the year of production of the watch through the serial number.
The serial number is usually found engraved on the case between the two lugs at 6 o'clock.
Rolex numbered the watches with numerals only from 1926 to 1987.
Note that in 1954 Rolex, having reached the million mark, decided to restart the count. Inexplicably when in 1964, the numbering hit the million again, Rolex continued counting by introducing the seventh digit.

Rolex Serial Number & Production Year 1987-2009
Rolex Serial Number & Production Year 1987-2009
Monday 07 november 2022 - 12:38
In 1987 the Swiss company Rolex adopted alphanumeric numbering and then began identifying serial numbers with a letter before numbers.
The table is attached.
Starting in 2005, Rolex decided to engrave the serial number of the watch also on the Rehaut at "6". The Rehaut is the ring between the dial and the glass.
A Rolex watch with the inscription in the famous ring is identified with the name RRR (Rolex Repetition Ring).

Since 2010 the alphanumeric serial with random numbers and letters has been introduced. Therefore it is no longer possible to roughly understand the year of production of the watch through the serial number.
The date is indicated on the guarantee card. More ›

List of movement numbers Patek Philippe up to the year 1971
Wednesday 05 october 2022 - 13:49
The remarks concerning the subsequent use of incomplete series of numbers refer to the years after 1971. From the calibre indication one can deduce the diameter or hight of the movement, bearing in mind that three measures are used: the ligne, the millimetre and the douzieme.
Examples:
a) The movement with the indication 12''' -400 has a diameter of 12 lignes = 27 mm (1''' = 1/12 French inch = 2,256 mm).
b) The movement with the indication 27-400 has a diameter of 27 mm.
c) A movement with a thickness of 20/12 is 3,76 mm high (1/12 = 0,188 mm). More ›

Rolex Submariner 16610 Green - Prototipo Basel 2003
Rolex Submariner 16610 Green - Prototipo Basel 2003
Thursday 16 september 2021 - 11:34
At the end of 2003, Rolex celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the Submariner with a new restyling of the legendary model, the Submariner Date reference 16610 equipped with a green bezel or insert. It was presented, in a prototype version, at the SIHH in Basel in 2003, arousing conflicting opinions in the fans of the famous Geneva-based company, as often happens. The purpose of this article is not to investigate the love-hate relationships arising from the birth of this model, but to give information about this watch in its short but intense life - less than four years - made up of small changes and above all long waiting lists at dealerships. Why document it, it's not always the same? Observers of Rolex models know that the Maison has accustomed us to small and constant variations on the basic models and the fruit of this "minimalist voyeurism" tells us that "green" is no longer the same. These are small changes, but we know that collecting has always been attentive to even the little things. More ›
